New to golf carts. Upgrading g29
I recently purchased a 2008 Yamaha drive g29. I had the dealer install the speed code to get me to 19mph buuutttt that isn't going to cut it. What it the best motor and controller combo to go with or just motor or just controller. Planning on lift and 22-23" tires. My buddy has an RXV that i cannot hang with and I want to make it where he can't hang with me. I talked to don at plowmans concerning the root kit and I feel that is my best option.
Just looking for any kind of input. Thank in advance. |

If you want to match his speeds up hills, better plan on getting out that $. One of the strongest selling points of the Rxv is the relatively little (sometimes none) speed loss up hills compared to a DC drive cart.

Both motor and controller should be on your upgrade list. The stock motor will not last long if you upgrade the controller and try to go faster than 20. (Been there done that!)

Ok, so motor and controller. Well along with upgraded cables, solenoid, and f/r switch.
Now what motor and controller do I go with and what kind of gains would I be expecting. The cart has 4 2013 12v us batteries. I have $2000 into the cart. Planning on re painting, lifting, wheels and tires along with other minor electrical stuff along with stand alone optima. |

In a world where money doesn't matter I am very partial to the D&D motor and Curtis controller.
I would also dump the 4 12V batteries and go with 6 Trojan T-875 batteries. A gear set wouldn't be out of the question either but I wouldn't consider gears with out changing the motor and controller first. |

I have been to d&d's website and I went through the choose your motor and controller questionair. It gave me the option to go 22mph with bigger tires for $907. That doesn't sound good to me. Does anybody have any experience with the RIOT kit that plowman offers? |

Also, I will stick with my 4 12's until the are done. I should have some life left with them.

Alltrax and D&D is my recommendation. That is what I have in my G29. (Along with Leaf Lithium batteries)
