Scotty's just joking around Jim!

Now... looking back, I DO have a reason for putting it in tow...
The cart stays at the campground, and stays on the charger during the week, unsupervised...
and, my site has one of the original power posts, (30 amp, and no GFI on the post, or Main breaker)

My Campground gets the brunt of the thunderstorms that go through Northeastern Wisconsin,
And, IMO... With the switch in tow, the cart components won't get fried "as bad" in the event of a lightning strike, or power surge!

The cart has been on that site for 6 years (2 previous owner, and 4 for me)
and has never had any problems relating to lightning, or a power surge!

I guess I just made it a habit to flip the switch everytime I charge it!

I found out the hard way that ( NO ) switch can protect from a lightening strike on power lines? Lost TV, Radio, 3 Clocks, Power Transformer and diodes and fuses in Club Car Charger, Main Circuit Breaker into house, Satelite Dish and Power Supply Unit, Stove Igniter, Air Conditioner Controls, 2 Computers and Power Supplies, 3 GFI Units, Electric Meter At House.
All were ( TURNED OFF ) when lightning struck, but jumped around all switches etc anyway?
ONLY WAY AROUND THIS WOULD BE TO UNPLUG IF POSSIBLE?

That sucks... and your right, unplugging it would isolate it...
but that's why I have full coverage insurance on all of it!
again... just my opinion, and habit!

If I were leaving my cart alone unsupervised for a week, (Store Category,) I also would leave it on TOW and have my security cable wrapped and locked around the seat to help prevent anyone trying to take off with it! While at a park and charging next to my Motorhome I leave it on RUN but still locked up and alarm on. I would be more concerned about Power Surges/Voltage Spikes since Lightning is going to fry everything anyway.

P.S. I also have full coverage through Allstate for just a bit over $100 a year, not just for theft but just incase I run over someone... like my wife!!!
