04 Club Car DS FE290 belt installation
Hello all! I've got an 04 Club Car DS that I'm trying to install a new drive belt onto....and I'm having a helluva time. I was able to roll the old belt off with no problem. I cannot get this new belt to roll on. It seems too short, but the seller assures me it's the correct belt for the FE290. The OD is 37".
I posted a question on a FB group and someone there suggested that I pry out on the drive clutch and use a 1" thick block to hold it open. He said the belt would be easier to get on that way. Does this make sense? I just had the body vinyl wrapped and this belt is the only thing holding me up from finishing the body install. Any tips? I'm frustrated |

What kind of belt is it? Part number and Brand? Where did you buy it?
The FB guy doesn't know what he's talking about. A new belt, especially if its a heavy duty belt can be much more difficult to roll on, but it is doable. We just need to make sure that you have the correct belt first. |
