The "stop switch" activates the solenoid to alow the starter to turn over the engine. There are 3 electrical circuts...starting/spark and charging. What model Yamaha do you have?

I am having the same problem. I installed a light kit and now the cart won't go at all. Yamaha G22A. The light kit is on a whole separate wiring harness and everything so I never cut any of the originals.

I have no idea where current should flow when I press the pedal.
