Default Legal use of LSV in Mississippi

I live in Mississippi and recently purchased a 2010 star LSV.

I jumped through the hoops to get the vehicle titled and get a tag. I have a valid drivers license, and insurance that exceeds the state minimum requirements for motor vehicles.

I have an inspection sticker indicating I meet the minimum state safety requirements.

Is it legal for me to drive my lsv on the roads of Mississippi?

I recently had an encounter with the law. It was very cordial and the officer couldn't identify any reason I was in violation of the law, but stated that I would likely continue to get pulled over since it is illegal to drive a "golf cart" on the roads. After about 20 to 30 minutes of discussion and explaining the vehicle to the officer and showing him all about it, he determined I was legal as far as he could tell. He was genuinely interested and curious.

The only thing the officer could think of in terms of a violation would be obstruction of traffic if I was only doing 20 mph on a 35 mph road and backing up traffic.

I am looking for any thoughts or information on the legal use of LSV's in Mississippi or in other states where legislation specifically authorizing the use of these vehicles has been passed.

Thanks

you may have already found this link with an internet search, but this breaks down the conflicts between federal transportation laws and state and local legislation with golf cars and road legal cars like yours

here in michigan i have learned that if you have a "slow moving vehicle triangle" on the back of your cart and it is 100% road legal, even if you are given a ticket it has very little chance of holding up in court.

hope that helps you get a better understanding on this!
