G16 governer mod and smoke question ?
I just got a 2000 G16 cart and I took my cables off the governer and ran it straight to the carb runs really good tonight I decided to GPS it and see how fast it was 29.0 mph on 12 inch rims with 225 tires. I have one problem I live in ohio and its a pretty cold night and my cart was just serviced before I bought it. The second time I went to run a GPS on it it started to smoke I let off the throttle and it stopped smoking I took the breather off and seen it blew oil into part of the breather. I checked the oil and its about 1 inch over full at least. Do you guys think it was just to full on oil. Should I put a different kind of oil in it since I have to drain some out ?

Dump the oil and put in one quart only. Most likely the problem! Good deal on the 29 MPH!!

Like Mike said dump the oil and put in 1 quart. Let it sit for a while and check the level with the cart setting level. If the cart has been lifted the factory mark will not be correct. Make a mark where the oil is now and use it for the full mark.

Thanks guys for the help. The oil they used is so clear it was hard to determine where it was on the stick and being over full didn't help.

Just make sure not to hold full throttle for too long at a time without some carb mods and maybe even exhaust since you bypassed the governor.

Well here is my $150 doller cart when I added the rear seat I took the throttle cable and l placed it right on the carb runs very smooth now and I gained alittle speed. Sorry for the poor video I took it with my cell phone and its the first ever I have taken lol.
