testing a 36v. motor

Hi, my first post here and have a question.
I bought a 1989 club cart to restore.
My first intention is to check and test motor after we where trying to check bat. hook ups.Clean motor post one of the post twisted off inside of motor so had to pull apart and resorter copper to post.
The motor is a model num. 5bc48jb764 36 v.
The post or inline with each other

not sure if this is the correct order but iam looking to just jump straight to batts. to test?
I know the other models that u just cross jump the termial to test if that correct.

It doesn't matter where the terminals are, and yes you need it jumped. Do you have labels marking the motor terminals?

Got it tested and back together,working good.Thack for the diagram.
while i had motor apart we had to turn down armature because of deep groves.
Question,i think i read that a 36v. motor can run on 48v.,Is this true?

Yes. It will produce 33% more rpms and torque.

I bought this cart for 400.00 now that i have it going i plane on doing a lift kit,rims n tires,etc.
Any upgrades that i should do to eletric system?
Its a 1989 series with v drive?
