Default Re: Battery Level Indicator Confusion

I do plug it in at the end of every day's use. The reason I want my cart to have an indicator is because I'll be using it on the road as an SMV for 3.5 miles one way to the golf course....play a round of golf...and make another 3.5 mile trek back home. It has brand new set of Crown 8v batteries.

I install digital meters. Problem is the 10 dollar ebay ones are not very accurate and in the battery golf cart world, you want accurate.

Find the most accurate one in your price range, or you can do like I saw on a customers cart recently....He put a piece of tape that read ( minus 4 volts)

I bought this one and have it wired directly after the Run/Tow switch. This keeps it on 24/7 unless I turn it to Tow for servicing the batteries.

I find it amazingly accurate for the price. It is usually right on with my Fluke and never more than 1/10 volt variance from it.

It only has 2 connection points for B+ and B-.

It reads consistently 3/10 volts higher than the Alltrax toolkit volt reading. But so does my Fluke and Amprobe DVMs. I have to believe the Alltrax is reading low if that's possible.

It is nice to view the pack voltage while driving and watching the regen from the Alltrax charge the batteries when decelerating.
