Default 2013 RXV Want to Obtain Upgraded Front Springs

Even small irregularities in the cart path concrete (1/2") cause the front shocks to bottom out. BTW: I'm not sure which is happening, if the shock is actually bottoming or if the spring is coil binding on compression. In either case the spring seems to be on the soft side. I've doubled up on the compression doughnut to avoid the "clunk" of bottoming.

Has anyone found a more "robust" front spring with a higher compression rating that they like? I'd like to obtain a couple of pair. Feel free to PM or post here.

The banging may be slop on the kingpins, allowing the spindle to slam up & down over bumps. I put shim washers on all new cars to take up the slop. Usually takes between .015" to .030".

Thanks for the "heads up".

I checked the kingpin play when I had the front end off the ground and on my cart there was only minimal play. My cart was used infrequently by the prior owner. My buddies cart on the other hand bought the same year cart that had been on lease to a golf course. He does indeed have some kingpin "slop" but installing the additional bump stop in the shock was what it needed the most.

I'll snag some copper shim material for his cart and make some.

Just reviving this old thread to see if the shims fixed the "clunk". If so, any pointers or details on size type of shim to use? Thanks! New to the carting world, but excited to learn more.

Check your a-arm bushings at the strut end. They wear a lot, the urathene is garbage.
Stay tuned though, my shop is working with a big name shock company and may develop something in the near future

order up a arbor shim assortment precision brand #25220 on amazon and it will make life easier, to remove spindle slack.
