Question 09 RXV tries to move but wont

I've got a 2009 RXV that tries to move but wont. New brake, new input shaft bearing, motor is extremely clean inside and doesn't smell burnt, 50V at the solenoid, ran great then all of the sudden just wouldn't do anything. Brake is releasing. Its not a Curtis controller so I cant hook up to it with my diagnostic reader. I'm starting to think encoder??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was having the same problem with my 2008, couldn’t figure out what it was for a while. Ended up being the electrical connection under the cup holder. Was a little loose and cart would not move. Tighten up that connection and it runs great. Long shot but it was what was causing mine to have the same issue.

I had a similar issue with a 2009 a while back. I was able to release the parking brake using the fuses. Would not release in neutral with the run/tow switch in tow. Ended up being my solenoid.

I did have this issue. The brake was previously not releasing due to this plug. I ended up bypassing the plug and wiring it direct.

If you bypass the solenoid, the cart will not operate! The controller is a computer that monitors everything. If even one of over a dozen conditions are not met, it will not pass the POST, Power On Self Test. Be VERY careful messing with wiring on an RXV, as it is very easy to damage or corrupt the controller!

Bob thanks for the reply. I did not bypass the solenoid only the plug under the cup holder. Simply cut and spliced the wires bypassing the plug.

Not a good idea, as that is the programming port on Danaher RXVs. Cannot run diagnostics without it. I carry an FSIP Danaher handset with me for helping members with Danaher controlled RXVs

Worked in a pinch to eliminate that being the issue.

BTW, 50V at the solenoid is a bit low for much operating. RXVs are very sensitive to low voltage. 51.8V is typical of a charged and settled RXV lead/acid pack.
