Need Battery Condition / Meter help!

Cart: 2006 Club Car DS

HISTORY:
The cart runs fine...and a few weeks ago I took it in to get custom painted.

During the process, we noticed one battery cable was frayed, which they replaced and one headlight was replaced.

PROBLEM:
Now, the orange warning light on the dash goes on and off...when charging and when running.

The "Battery Condition" meter will go from fully charge down to 60% within minutes...but the cart still runs fast and long...

If I turn the ignition off, and back on, the meter goes back to fully charged reading.

The cart does not seem like theres a loss of battery life...I can use if for a full days golf 45+ holes without any problem.

So whats going on with these gauges?

Someone recommended it was the OBC...but I reset that...batteries tested and are fine.

Any recommendations/suggestions?

That orange light is suggesting that your batteries are getting low when you are running your cart even if they aren't. Mine starts to flash around 48.4 volts or 50% of pack once settled. It still sounds like your OBC isn't reading things right so I'd try and reset it based on the stickies at the top of the thread once again. They can go bad as well but if you have a good battery pack showing 50.93+ when fully charged and it can last you a long time it must be the way the OBC is seeing things.

Resetting the OBC, (taken from AllTrax)

To reset the OBC the following must be done in this
order:

•

Key Switch to Off

•

Forward/Reverse to Neutral

•

Tow/Run Switch to Tow

•

Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire
from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery
pack.

•

Put the Tow/Run to Run

•

Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse

•

Key Switch to On

•

Lock the throttle pedal down
The reverse buzzer will sound and go off in about 30
seconds. Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the
OBC to reset.
To reconnect the OBC back into the system:

•

Key Switch to Off

•

Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral

•

Tow/Run switch to Tow

•

Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus
terminal on the battery pack.
Once the OBC has been reset, the cart can be
troubleshot. There is always a chance the OBC has
completely failed and the reset process will not fix the
problem.

tryed this and the buzzer never did go off

Today I found a loose red cable going directly to the battery...I noticed the orange light sometiomes went on and off when someone sat on the seat...the red cable had a bad connection...so I replaced it and rode 4 holes and the orange light never came on again...I was thrilled!....till it ran out of power.

I figured it was because it never got a full charge due to the loose connection.

So I put it back on the charger, and it started charging...then shut off and the orange light started going on and off again...should I worry about this? Or just let it charge overnight and see what happens?
