36V or 48V?

I'm in need of a cart and we're looking used. It will be used at the drag strip, to lug up to four people around. I also need one that is stout enough to pull a car (free rolling, but still is a good load) when the situation demands it. I was originally looking for a gas cart, but they are pretty scarce around here and I haven't been impressed with the few I have gone to see. Just about all the carts in the area are Club Cars, so that's the pool I have to choose from.

So, for my situation where I demand high torque only, is a 36V or a 48V better suited for my situation? I am trying to stay within the price range $1,500-2,200.

Go with 48 volt solid state cart with series motor ( F&R switch is lever on body beside your right leg rather than a rocker switch in same position which means its a regen cart )as they are more trouble free and less expensive to update and repair. Series motors are more adaptable and seem to last alot loger ( NOTE I may be in trouble with some out there but this is my oppinion )
Remember that batterys will be your biggest important item and should be near new and of good quality. Otherwise expect to spend about $400-$500 for quality batterys. Trojan is the best and are a sure thing for strong pulling power for your usage. You may have to replace with a lower torque motor and 4 guage welding cables to do the job you want.

I agree.... and I'll add that you should use the factory 3.10HP motor instead of a high speed 3.75HP. The higher the speed, the lower the torque. The 3.10 is capable of handling a 300A controller but in stock form it'll be pushed by a 225. 225 should work fairly well, but with 300 you'll have more than enough power.
