Default Can you test the amperage draw of a motor?

I have a high speed motor and a 700 amp controller on my 1998 Club Car DS. I have had problems with burning up F&R switches along with a few other electrical components. Because of this, I removed the high speed motor and replaced it with a stock one. Is there a way to test my high speed motor to see if it is drawing too many amps?

The test equipment for high DC amperage is expensive. So you won't find it in every shop.
Were you using heavy duty or old 36v F&R or just standard & replacement 48v switches?

You might try looking in military surplus for meter packs. I used one for over 40 years that could measure up to 1000 amps and 1000 volts DC. At that time cost me only $25.00 but I'm sure way more now and not worth costs to use only one time? If you had a shop it would be something else?
Have you tried one or more of the Albright SW 82, or the ganged SW 822, or DC 182 as they along with rocker control switching hold up the best I have found in high amp setups like yours. I had given up on WR 586 as since manufacturing went to other countries the contacts dont seem to take the load like they used to?
