FYI..... 2005 is the last year they made a DS car with 8V batts. In 2006, 12V became standard, but 8V was still optional, although very rare. They started again with the 8V cars in 2010. However, don't let the conversion costs scare you. The conversion costs OLD MEC was referring to was for a Precedent cart. The stuff to convert a DS cart from 12's to 8's is only about 25-30 bucks.

For CC Precedent around $350 + roughly $900 for 6 new batteries. You will have to relocate controller to rear motor area of cart...
