Default Battery results

I had a few free minutes today to check batteries under load and this is what I came up with.

38.6 v at full charge
Taking cart uphill with family on it the voltage dropped down to 29.6 volts but came up to 33 to 34.8 volts under slight load.

I used a fluke multi meter

Individual batteries would dip down to 4.4v. Starting at 6.4 v

I guess my biggest question is how low should battery voltage drop even in a good battery. Also if batteries voltage is dropping this low could it cause damage to e parts because of heat

Irreversible physical damage occurs when lead-acid wet-cell deep-cycle batteries are loaded down to 1.50VPC (Volts per Cell) and below.
When doing non-destructive testing, battery manufactures typically use 1.75VPC (Volts per Cell) as the under-load voltage cut-off for 6V batteries.
(Some manufacturers don't load their 8V and 12V batteries that heavily because they are built from smaller, fewer Amp-Hour, cells).

At 4.4V you are loading the batteries down to 1.47VPC, so irreversible physical damage may be occurring.

-----------
As to the question about damaging electrical parts other than the batteries.
It depends on whether the batteries are bad and the voltage is dropping excessively under a normal load, or if the batteries are good and the load is abnormally high.

Basically, if anything other than the motor is getting too hot to touch, it needs to be fixed or replaced.

What controller do you have? (Stock is 275A)
What is the Tire height? (Stock is 18")
How much weight (driver, passengers & cargo) are you carrying? (Total Load Capacity for a stock TXT is 800 pounds)
How steep is the hill you are climbing (Max incline for a stock TXT is 25% grade or 14° - See attached chart)

What Johnnie said and batteries that drop to 4.4 under load are bad assuming 6.4 to start it is possibly dropping a cell under load.
Good batteries can read 5.9 under load, I don't like to see them much lower. Another thing to watch is the variation from battery to battery in the pack.

Thanks, I was checking to see if batteries were bad, they are world wide batteries and probably 4 years old. Cart seems to be slower and then run out of juice and starts shuddering
