Default Destroying commutator bearings.

Hey all, 86 club car 36 volt. After water rescue and 6 years later motor went bad. I got a motor give to me that looked like it was in good shape, put it in and after a few weeks the bearing in the motor went bad. Took it to the shop and they put in a new bearing and said motor did not need rebuilt. put it back in and after less than a mile the cart locked up( back wheels would not turn). Drug it home took the motor off and found commutator bearing destroyed. The shop put in another bearing and it did it again. One more bearing, motor back in on jacks with wheels off, i pushed the gas pedal and felt the motor getting hot(end by bearing) and the differential getting very hot(bearing thats on the driveshaft for motor). I know if i drive it it will cook another bearing, any ideals on what could be causing this? I did pull the differential and took it apart, all looks fine there. Thanks in advance all. LB

Take it to another motor shop, or send it to PQ

After the water rescue, was the differential drained and refilled with new clean oil?

With the motor off the car, how easy does the differential turn over?

No only check for brake drag, but check differential for drag and problems from rust?

Brakes are not dragging(first thing i thought of too). The diff is good too, took it all apart to check it out. The water rescue was 6 years ago, and i have pics on my other threads. I think it has to be the motor but dont want to spend 500 bucks on a guess.

IDK for sure. But it seems like you have a dead short somewhere.

Is there a rubber bumper in the end of the motor shaft? If so, take it out. It's applying too much outward pressure on the armature.

There is not a rubber bumper in the end of the shaft. i was thinking the other way around? I put one in but have not had a chance to put it all back together. I will let you know how it turns out.
