Default How to test 2013 rxv rotary speed sensor

Trying to hunt down a problem. Cart is jerking and studdering intermittently. Recently replaced motor brake and solenoid. Now trying to test rotary sensor on gas pedal.

Throttle and brake use the same sensor.. Flip the run/tow to tow and swap them. Try again and see if your symptoms change. If so replace the sensor.

Ok, I did check the encoder sensor, it never went from 0-5v. I'll try swapping the sensors on pedals as well.

Unless you can test the encoder while its messing up, you didnt do squat. Only way to really test it while in operation is with a oscilloscope.

That is totally a valid test for a "totally failed" one, but doesnt catch a intermittent one causing jerking while driving.

Ok switched sensor from gas pedal to brake pedal. It is working fine now. What issues can come from having that faulty sensor on brake side now. Will replace just wondering how big a hurry I need to be in...

Well, how much do you like to have "good confidence" in your stopping ability?

Is it a "high priority"?
Or "meh, I never really liked that pedal anyway. If I push it & it doesnt work, I'll just make some other plans"?
