Default 2018 TXT 48 - terrible ride - no lift - with rear seat

My 2018 TXT 48 has ridden like crap ever since I took ownership. It was a returned lease cart. I have the rear seat installed and have a bag rack on the back of the safety bar so it is convenient to have 4 passengers and still have the bags on the cart and facing rearward (much easier to access than facing forward).

The ride quality is absolutely terrible when going over any kind of bump. Primary use is neighborhood transportation and on the course. Essentially, if you hit any kind of bump at speed you will be launched off of the seat. Also, when there are passengers on the rear seat, the cart leans a ton when cornering.

I replaced the stock rear leaf springs with Heavy Duty Rear Leaf Springs (https://www.golfcarttiresupply.com/e...its-1994-5-up/). This did not seem to improve ride quality at all.

It doesn't appear that rear shocks were ever installed on this cart. I have ordered some and am now questioning whether or not they will help. I measured the distance between the shock mounts and it is 13-3/8" on the left and 13-1/2" on the right.

These are the shocks that I ordered which theoretically have a 14"-18" travel. https://www.golfcartking.com/ezgo-tx...r-1994-and-up/

FWIW there are six NAPA GC8 batteries installed. The rear fender height is 19-1/2" on the left and 20-1/8" on the right.

I have included some pictures so you can see how the HD leaf springs look with no passengers or bags on the cart.

Thanks in advance for any advice here!

I have a 2013 TXT which also was made without rear shocks. The cart was designed for them but they simply were not ever installed. (price savings I guess).
I ordered a set from Amazon and put them on. What a HUGE difference it made for us. I don't use my cart for golf. My home is hilly and bumpy. It actually rides better now with 3-4 people on board than it does with just 1 or 2.

Ok, great. Thanks! I think at this point I am just concerned about why I only have ~13.5" of clearance between the shock mounting tabs and whether or not the shocks that I ordered will be bottomed out when I install them.

You can also check your tire pressure. Too high of a pressure will increase your carts range by reducing rolling resistance but will make your ride stiffer. Too low of a pressure can reduce your top speed and add to tire wear but makes for a softer ride.
