Re: Need Help Selecting Cart
Yamaha, E-Z-GO and Club Car all make 48 volt carts.

Re: Need Help Selecting Cart
If brand is not important to you, then choose a cart from the dealer that you like the most and will be there to serve your needs in the future. You didn't say if the EZGO was a Series or PDS. A 36 volt PDS will run circles around the 48 volt club car, in my opnion and experience...

Re: Need Help Selecting Cart
The EZ-Go is a PDS - that is percision drive system correct? So you are of the opinion that the PDS cart is probably a better (or just faster than) the club car presedent?

Re: Need Help Selecting Cart
Listen...
It's all about what body style, ride, and brand YOU like!!! Your going to find after reading most of the threads here that most people, are "Biased" on what brand of cart they have... For instance: Mike is an EZGO Dealer... Ron (The New Guy) prefers his Yamaha V-twin... And, I prefer Club Cars... (I don't mean to single out anyone... it's just an example!) As Roady said... they all have their "pros and cons" It's kind of like comparing "Apples and Oranges" A couple of notes here: I picked Club Car because my first cart, a 98 48V CC came with the camp site that I have... plus, OEM parts and aftermarket accessories are locally available! As for the "Gold Standard" Precedent... you DO understand that it's a factory remanufactured cart? don't you? not like there's anything wrong with that, but most of the components are "inspected", and not replaced with new parts... which make the cart less expensive then a brand new one! Here's a link on the 12 step process! http://www.clubcar.com/Services/PreO...heprocess.aspx Remember... It's all about what YOU like! Best of luck on your decision! |

Oh... and BTW...
there is a carbon fiber dash for the Precedents now... I haven't checked to see if they have a radio mount in them, but that may be a consiteration, rather then an "over head" installation! |

Re: Need Help Selecting Cart
Thanks very much Don - I appreciate your feedback and do understand that the gold standard is a remanf. cart. OK - thanks!
By the way - I really like your cart in the picture - is that a DS - it looks really nice - what machanical mods have you done? Any high speed stuff - and do you do it your self or have a shop do it? |

It's technically a 2007 "Lynx" XRT 550 (gas) hunting vehicle... but I use it to cruise the campground! (In actuality, it's a DS model, with an FE350, 22" tires, and a 4" Z lift from the factory) Being that my warranty just recently expired... the only mechanical stuff that I've done... is a Zip Tie to the govenor spring, and CPP's performance exhaust! My (our) other cart is a 98 CC 48V... it started out as a "Plain Jane" cart... I added mostly accessories, nothing high speed! (because it's my wifes cart ) Modifications on any type, (gas or electric) or brand of cart all depends on what you want to spend... and for some reason... (when you get "the bug"...) it'll never be enough!!! ...good luck with THAT!!! Last edited by lockman1; 04-15-2008 at 10:12 PM.. Reason: Too long winded |
