Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
The serial number was covered up by carpet. It is A9502-419069. The cart does not run in forward or reverse. The solenoid used to click in both directions, but after my solenoid jumping (which did incur sparks once between the two larger wires), solenoid stop clicking. One fuse controls the overhead gizmo with the cab lights and the radio. The other controls the headlights. Both are unblown and their corresponding devices work.

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
Since you messed with the solenoid I've got to ask. How come the nut on the right is tightened down a lot more than the one on the left

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
They're both fully tightened. The left one has a couple of ring terminals that goes to the wiring loom, while the right one does not. That may be why it looks like one is more tightened than the other.

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
I'm going to do the test posted by Epb later. However I have a few questions. That test says that the solenoid clicks and what not. My solenoid quit clicking after I put the two big wires onto one terminal for testing purposes. Will the controller test posted still be a valid test with said nonfunctional solenoid on my cart?

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
There are a series of tests. If u put both large wires on one post and it doesn't run then there is an issue in the activation or controller.
Test solenoid-Remove all wires from solenoid then apply 48v to the small posts and check for click. If it works solenoid is ok. There are tests for signal input and you dont need the solenoid to test. If solenoid is bad you can get one on order while validating other issues. |

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
Since 95 was the first year of 48v, OBCs often went out more frequently then the newer ones. It may be that the OBC is shot and is triggering the solenoid lockout condition

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
To test cc's idea- Hook everything back up as normal then run a jumper from the small solenoid post with the yellow wire to the b- on the controller. If this fixes it bad obc. This was posted by 93yellow in that thread.

Re: Cart stopped running cold turkey.
Just noticed the FNR switch in the picture posted is in the neutral position, the solenoid will not activate in that position due to microswitch #1. (Just in case you left it in neutral )
