Default Spike Guard Alternative?

My '88 DS had those plastic Spike Guards on top of the rear fenders.

I pulled the rear body off today and coated it it bedliner, but I left the holes for them, and I don't intend to put them back on.

Has anyone done anything interesting with the holes that are left over?

Yeah, I thought about that. But in the back of my head, I thought the next guy might want them on? I should have filled them.

A BGW member back in the day painted the rivets an accent color, installed the rivets without the spike guards.

It looked pretty cool!

That might work. Since I lined it in a semi-gloss black, I thought some of those spike-shaped nuts would be funny, because I'm kind of going for a mad max look. But the wife hates that idea...lol

whenever I have random holes that may or may not be needed later I push the "Christmas" tree type fasteners in them. They are black and low profile so usually not noticed, or you can paint them body color and then push them in for a finished look

Harley shops have all kinds of cool bolts capped with skulls, flags, stars etc.. for license plate fasteners. I've used them to hide defects many times.

Harley shop sounds like a good bet. Didn't even think of that.

I have a big bag of the newer type fasteners coming from eBay, so like Buick said, I might just pop some in there for the time being.

I also thought of making a pattern and cutting some out of the diamond plate I have laying around. Maybe doing a brushed finish on them to tie in the aluminum frames to the rest of the cart....
