Try that and let me know what you find. I think I know what's going on here but I want to take it one step at a time before I reveal my theory.

Have you had any wires disconnected and reconnected when all this started happening?

I'm still not following you. I think we're having a communication issue. You're telling me that you have one amount of voltage on one side, and another amount of voltage on the other side. For this to be possible, you have to be checking the voltage two different ways with your multimeter. I want to know the Exact location of the multimeter leads on the batteries in both instances.

I went back and changed the wrong statement! i made couple replies back----Cart leads--- Red lead right side, black lead left side. Now what i find now is this. There is a quiet click, that comes from the rear of the cart, you have to push the pedal with one finger,,,and listen closely. It makes me think that there is corrode wire end somewhere. Because isn't getting the electricity. Is there exposed connections underneath the car? under a cover or something i can check,

Now the battery voltage is as follows ,front of these batteries, i get 25 volts end to end of these 4 batteries.-at the rear backside of these batteries i get 51.volts. how can this be? voltage isn't right is it? Should be 51 volts front or back of this bank of batteries? Bob s

I check the batteries end of one bank to other side of cart front and back. and get two different voltages

i get 12 volts tad more on each battery as i check each indivdual battery thru all 4 of them
