1994 villager 4 seater 36v speed

There was the 5 solenoid / resistor setup, 1 solenoid / 5 resistor setup, or the controller setup. He has the middle

This is the system, the controller is the speed switch in the middle of the diagram.... I serviced the brakes on the weekend and there is minimal drag on the drums... the only other thing maybe alignment but it drives straight with a small amount of toe in, not a ton...

Did You verify the the last cable on the VGlide, black in the diagram, goes all the way pass all the resistors to the Gray cable?

Yes the black wire does go to the grey one... the only thing that has me scratching my head is the "limit switch" and it's function... Any idea as to what it does?

It's like a fail-safe. Key has to be "on", direction has to be selected (triggering limit s/w) and go pedal pressed. If any one of the 3 is missing, the cart won't go. Keeps the kids or the dog from going on a surprise joy ride.

Re-reading this thread something hit me. You said you had a full charged pack at 37 volts, but 37 volts is only a 70% charge on a 36 volt pack. See the Sticky- Everything you need to know about batteries (post #3) at top of this section. You are starting out from behind.

I see! That's good info ! That being said, my question is now directed to the charger, any idea how much charging voltage is supposed to be coming out and into the system from the charger itself? I'm wondering if my charger isn't all it's cracked up to be? It looks Stone Age ....

I'm not sure. I would need to do a little research, but I believe about 42-45 volts. can you come with a name and model number?

Ill check when im at the shop next, unfortunately it wont be until tommorow at best :( i seem to recall seeing 38ish volts while charging... it strikes me as though it may not be enough charging voltage... its a club car original charger, from 1991... big box deal, with amp-guage on it.. it shuts off when it thinks its charged... turns out the cart is truely a 91 btw... i read the tag wrong initially

The charge voltage should start off at what your battery voltage is. It should climb to about 43.8v. The current should start at whatever your charger can put out and tapper down to about 3 to 5 amps when your batteries are charged. When you unplug the charger it should settle back to 38.2 volts for a full charge.
