Default Bandit motor with Alltrax making a winding sound

Hey guys – so I was driving my golf cart today (Bandit motor with Alltrax controller). I noticed that when I let off the pedal to about three quarters throttle it pulsates a little and the volts drop from high 40's to upper 30,s under load. I only drove it up the street and back and on the way back the motor started making a winding sound proportionate to how much throttle I would give it. Does that mean that the motor is about to unwind? Also, the cart has now been off and sitting in the garage for almost an hour and the motor is still hot to touch. I did not see any warnings in the software but I'm sure that does not mean much.

my cart is now running 31 mph with the bandit motor. It is way to fast for the family and I am afraid it may blow the engine. Thanks
It sounds like you went and did it.

I sure hope not. I had all the settings set to the original settings (when I received the controller) and it still was running upper 20's mph. Did notice on the controller settings that the original settings were set for "8 pole" however in a recent post I was told to keep the settings at "4- pole" for the Bandit motor. Any suggestions on this?

Also, I know there was some confusion on whether to have the controller set to "Turf" or "Street". For driving around the community, what's the best option?

The magnet is 4 pole.

The "Turf" (previously Golf) limits the maximum Throttle rate regardless of how high You set it, the "Street" (previously Hunting Buggy) uses whatever you set.

You should have the Regen feature disabled.

I am not speaking from actual experience on your setup.

I read PQ suggests no turbo and no regen with the bandit.

Thanks Scotty - I think a motor upgrade is going to be the best option. I am so limited and feel the Bandit is not the right match for my heavy foot.

Anyone have any suggestions on a reliable motor that would pair nicely with the Alltrax XCT 500?

Thanks

4 pole, no turbo and all regen turned all the way down? Guess I got some more test runs to do tomorrow
