Default '04 DS / IQ, Good Torque, Good Low-Mid Speed, NO High Speed

Guys,

Pulled the '02 48v DS (IQ) out of the shed for the first time this season and discovered a problem with it. It has a PQ Bandit on it and it is lifted. Everything else is stock. Batteries are all between 8.25 and 8.35 and were on the Powerwise all winter so we should be good with those. When the thing was put away in the fall top speed was right around 20 - 21 mph.

Low speed torque on this cart is as it was when put away in the fall. Hitting the accelerator snaps the driver back just a bit as normal with this cart. It gets to 10 mph as quickly as it aways has since the Bandit was installed. However, when it gets to 10 mph the acceleration simply flat lines and 10 mph is where it stays. It's odd because the way the cart races through 1 - 9 mph really gives the impression that it is going to keep zipping up to it's normal top speed but then it almost feels like someone hits the brakes at 10.

Can this be anything other than the controller?

Shoot that's right. I forgot all about those. I had to replace one of them 5 years or so ago. I bet that's what it is.

Be sure to read all the warnings posted on the forum about cheap Chinese knockoffs. Be sure to get one from a reputable dealer.
