Default Bulging Trojan Batteries

Hey guys,

I just got a nice 2001 club car from CL with old Trojan batteries for $400 (great deal)....I'm wondering...I haven't tried charging yet, but pulled each battery out to clean the body/frame and visually inspect everything...

Question is, the 6 batteries are old...2003/2004/2005...(guessing since I highly doubt they are 2013/2014/2015)

Visually I'm looking at them and each has a noticeable bulges on the sides.

Is this a visual sign that I shouldn't even try to charge?

Thanks!

Chris

That is not unusual. You can try to charge them. Make sure they have water just above the plates.

True dat... Thought the the OE batteries on my 2011 were bulged. Bought new Crown batteries and noted that they had the same slight bulge in them too....
