Top speed should be the same with 300,400,or 500 XCT on flat terrain. More amperage makes more torque which helps with bigger tires, or on hills, and with rear seats, etc. Stock motor will only take 300 - 400 amps.

Lateparker,

Figured I’d chime in. I have an 09 and is a neighborhood cruiser that looks about like yours. Talk with Don at Plowmans carts. Best customer service that you could ask for. I originally got the 300amp and new battery cables. He sent both together. Wasn’t a hard install. Completely transformed my cart overnight. I could get about 23mph with 12” time. My motor eventually burned up after about 1 year of running it, the owner before me were pretty rough on the cart. I called Don and he set me up with one of his motors. Now it can touch 30mph with a slight hill decline.
