Default 1986 EZ Go will not start, Help!

86 Ez go, Does not start. Has what appears to be a good spark, when I push the gas pedal it turns over well. I checked compression , has 125, thought that was good enough, but maybe not. Changed gas, replaced fuel pump. Still nothing. Ordered a new carb. took the old one out and noticed it was missing the little screw. I also notice the throttle lever was different. So I cleaned out the old carb. which was not dirty, swapped the screw from the new carb to the old one and tried it again. Nothing???? I also noticed that it does not seem to be sucking much air if any in through the carb, seemed odd.
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Was it running before, and just quit?

What's the history of the cart?

120 psi is new.

Is it pumping fuel? You should see a good healthy spurt from the hose coming from the pump.

I had a similar issue when I picked up my cart. We disconnected the fuel hose from the carb and ran in into a can, then cranked the motor to ensure clean fuel flow. My gas tank had debris and mold, filter partially clogged and pump meh. For about $25 we cleaned the tank, replaced all the fuel lines, new filter and pump. Also - make sure you have good vacuum to run the fuel pump.

Once we had confirmed good clean fuel flow all the way to the carb, it still wouldn't start. Removed the carb and cleaned it three times until I got it right. After that it has run like a champ.

First thing...Thank you for your thoughts!

I do not know the history, I bought it from a guy who spent time installing headlights, new seats etc. And then could not start it. I was suspicious of the gas so I pulled the tank and the bottom was clean
replaced the gas line but did not replace the filter which did not look bad.
But I did not check that I was getting flow from the fuel pump. I replaced it with a new one, I do not understand where the vacuum is coming from. It sat on a long black block with a hole in the middle, I suppose the vacuum is coming from the motor through the hole, odd... I might add that there was gas in the bowl of the carb

Vacuum from the crankcase operates the pump. I kind of suspect bad crankshaft seals, or piston in backwards.

The amount of fuel flow from the pump will tell us if there is vacuum.
Removing the exhaust pipe and looking up inside the port tells us if the piston is in right. Move the piston up and down. If you see a square hole in the side of the piston, it's in backwards.

That long black block is the plastic insulator. Those are like gold. Don't break it. There should be a gasket against the engine and an O ring on the bottom of the pump.
