Used ezgo st sport
So I’m thinking of buying a used 2005 ezgo st sport that has a gas Robbins engine, factory lift, bugger rims and tires and rear seat kit. It looks to be in really nice shape. They are asking 4,500 for it. Is this a good price? Is there anything I should look for when I test drive it?

If it runs like it looks I would say that is a good price. Depends on your market.

One good thing, ST Sports weren't on golf courses used every day and you can't beat the 350 Robins.

Re: Used ezgo st sport
4500 seems high for a 15+ year old cart to me. Especially in Michigan this time of year when cart sales/demand isn’t exactly high.
IMO (and just one mans opinion that’s battled more than one of these motors) I’d personally never own a MCI robins engine. I love the pre-mci engines (around 2002 or earlier) but I believe the mci motors are garbage. The lubrications system has serious design flaws. It works “okay” when it works. But with very minor “not working” it will cause catastrophic damage to the motor. Edit: with a quick search for “gas golf cart” I’ve found 3 2014-2017 club car precedents (gas) for under $5k. I’d stay away from the newer EFI precedent with the Subaru motor. They work great but if something breaks it can be big $ to fix it. Might be worth calling plowmans carts in flint as well if you’re open to Yamaha. He stands behind what he sells and can build it to do whatever you want it to do. Dude man is impressive. |

Re: Used ezgo st sport
Good to know CP, I had about 15 TXTs and a couple workhorses. Used to lift and sell on the side of the road. Half mci half not, never had any trouble with any of them. But only had the 2 for any length of time, both pre-mci my 2000 and 2001 since about 03/04.. other than changing oil, spark plugs (once), a couple batteries and putting gas in them, they have been zero trouble and run like the day I bought them. Of course I just putt putt around the property nothing crazy.
