has any one had sucess using a regular auto type tach on a 1 cylinder 2 cycle engine? could you just hook up the wiring to the coil side 12 volt pos and would it get a signal ? i have read the post on tachs and it seem that a few people like the "tiny tachs" no sure i like them i like the small round ones best. any help in greatly appreciated.... robn 244 cc engine 1982 ezgo

Re: using a reg auto tach?
I don't think it will work. After market tach's like the Autometer I have in my race car need to be ohased for the # of cly in the motor. they can be set for 4, 6, or 8 cyl.
The autometer Jr dragster tach should work. |
