Re: 36 to 48 and more on 83 ezgo marathon
If you ain't building it to sell then go for it. Personally I would pass on an 83. BUT, if it was 86 or newer then I'd do it. The 83 year model makes it a little more difficult IMO because of the motor configuration. (perpendicular to rear axle instead of parallel like newer.)
Sorry boys, I'm partial to metal bodied carts and I despise thermoplastic elastomer. It's a personal/professional thing. BTW, you'll need a throttle solution as well. I didn't see a mention of this. Good luck, but mostly have fun building. |

Pg, I have never doubted your opinion until now
The plastic body was the biggest improvement since solid state speed control, Sir. (With the exception of the drive through liquor store I saw in the state of Texas |

scotty balls, I posted "It's a personal/professional thing."
I'm in the metals biz. Have been for 30+ years. Plastics, well, they just pollute. And there has not been until recently a viable recycling program. Steel has been recycled since day one in the industrial revolution of the late 19th century. Tens of thousands of tons of plastic are buried all over this land of ours and will be there for centuries. Yes, plastic serves some useful purposes but when it comes to replacement for steel there is none. Steel is without doubt the original and oldest recycled product available. Once its served its life then back to the furnace. Melt it down and voila back to new. Steel is organic. Plastic is not. Steel when left in mother earth returns to its original forms. Yes, in the early days steel mills did there share of air pollution, but today's modern mini mills are the poster children of "clean steel" and boast over 90% recycled content. end rant. |

Start out with at least a 2002 TXT. I have been down the $3500 path before, but as pointed out I have a cart that is exactly what I want.

Curtis PB-6 pot box. It takes the mechanical from the accelerator pedal & turns it into an electrical signal for the Alltrax controller to use.
