Default engine and clutch question

I'm putting a honda clone motor in my cart and wanted to make sure what im doing will work. I read some of the post on here but still not 100% sure.

question is

if i buy the tapered clutch adapter, will my stock clutch work on the one inch shaft on the clone motor?

What model cart? I ran into too many clearance issues trying to do the same thing on my G1 (Geep1). I ended up just buying the right clutch from CPP, and glad I did. The new clone engine and new clutch work great together.

I bought the 16 hp also. So far I'm happy with it, runs good with lots of torque. In a G2 I would think you will have enough room to run the stock clutch with no interference. The adapter CPP sells goes from the taper to a straight 1" bore so it should work for you.

How much you guys paid for that engine? Why did you term it clone? Not a real Honda? Even then, I am also interested. Any info as to where can I buy an identical motor?

I was told that these Honda engines are made in China and the same plant that makes them also make the clones and sell them with anyone's name on them. Honda replacement parts will work.

Unless Honda moved, They are still made in Japan. LOL Reverse engineered fakes are made in china.
On the clutch subject the stock clutch can be used with our tapered clutch adapter. However if its the OEM Yamaha clutch, None of them have a engagement spring so the engine will not be able to idle without the cart moving

It is supposedly cheaper for the Japanese to have the small Honda engines made in China.
