o for the starter belt tenstion= close to 1 cm under 10lbs of presure on belt. you can use a fish scale to measure out 10lbs.

for clutches= belt 1''+ wide like sho said, and check your secondary clutch's spring and c clip for damage. alsopull the cover off the primay (clutch on motor) and make sure it slides in and out freely and that the weights look ok.
The starter belt is tight. And with the rest that you said I'm thinking I'm gonna have to take it into the shop to have sombody else fix it. When I start taking things apart it usually ends up bad :)

I've got a friend with a shop that customizes carts so I'll stop and talk to him and see if he can look at it soon.

Thanks guys! I'll get it fixed and report back.

I did stand on the cart with the seat off and tried to go uphill (and uphill is like riding up a pitchers mound) and it's not slipping, it moves a second then gets stuck, then tries to move again, over and over.

Ok sounds like a bad starter if it's stoping and startering or an electrical problem

I'll find out and tell you guys. It may take a few days before I can get it up to the shop.

Is the drive belt tight with out the cart running? Is it at the top of the primary clutch?
Sounds like the primary clutch is stuck in high rpm.

It's the same as always, I'm not sure what you mean about on the top of the clutch.

Once I can get the motor running (downhill, or kinda jerking the cart back and forth) the cart runs like it always has, fast, slow, etc.

But when I stop the cart use to be able to roll, or be pushed, and you'd hear the motor turning over by just pushing or rolling. Now it doesn't roll, it's like trying to push a motorcycle in gear (it's possible to roll, but hard) if the cart is in neutral it rolls fine.

I should have asked, is the belt not supposed to be tight when not running? Now that I think back, I do kinda remember the belt loose.

Anyway, the belt is tight. If that's not the way it's supposed to be how do I fix that?

Looks like it's the clutch. I found another thread on here that had the exact same problem as I'm having and it seems the clutch was the problem. I'm thinkin I'll have to have somebody else fix it.

Here's the other thread I found. This guy explains the problem better than I did...
