Default '98 EZGo Elec. - 2 questions

I was given a '98 Elec EZGO that when I go it, it was not running, don't know why. I replaced the battery connections with 2ga. I know the batteries need to be replaced, but I was able to borrow a friends charger and got enough of a charge to get the wheels spinning while it was jacked up. First question- I took this as a good sign that if I replace the battery pack that it will probably run, would you agree? 2nd- If I get it running I plan to put a lift kit and bigger tires on it. Would it be worth replacing the wiring to motor with 2ga also? Thanks!

Motor running without load is a good sign. Do NOT let it spin too fast as damage can occur. As for the cables, if they carry the same load (and they do), they should all be changed. 2g is overkill for all but the biggest builds, but if you have it, fine. It won't hurt anything. What is important is the strand count in the cables. High strand count is better than low strand count.

Is there a toggle switch on the controller cover?

Then you have a "Series" cart, non DCS, non PDS. A very good platform for upgrades.
