Help with VIN
I have a 1999 g16 that I bought used from a Yamaha Cart dealer. I have the bill of sale they gave me and the VIN or serial number appears on it. My problem is this. I took the tag off of the vertical rail under the driver's seat before I sent the frame to be sandblasted and now I can't find it. Does anyone know what I can do now? I was going to have it inspected and license it here in Ohio. I know I will have to have this tag for this process. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks. |

Re: Help with VIN
If it were me, I would go to Harbor Freight and buy set of steel stamps (numbers and letters) their cheap. Get a piece of aluminum strip and make one, then rivet it back in the original place. Round the corners so it looks factory. You could always take the stamps back to Harbor if you like.

Re: Help with VIN
I don't think the county sheriff will approve a homemade serial number tag. They have to inspect it first, then they notify the BMV that it's ok to title it.
