solenoid trouble
I have a 97 DS 48 volt. curtis controller. the only way car will run is with a jumper wire on the 2 big nuts of the solenoid. replaced solenoid ,resistor and new diode. still have to put a jumper wire on the solenoid

the problem is in the activation circuit ... throw a $5 micro switch at it (on the F&R)

If the solenoid is not clicking when u press the accelorator with the key on and the fwd/rev switch in fwd or rev. then check that you are getting power to the small post (+) of the solenoid. Place the red probe of a multimeter on this post and the negative on the controller B- .press gas and you shud have full battery pack voltage.If nothing then check micro switch on either the v-glide or potentiometer under the pedal cluster (which ever you have) If you have voltage then check continuity of the small negative post of the solenoid to B- of the controller. If no continuity jumper the post to B- with #14 gauge wire and press the gas. If it works then its probably the OBC that is at fault as the negative from the solenoid is controlled by the OBC.
