'81 CC Intermittant forward/reverse issues
First I would like to thank members of the board, I have searched many topics and found answers to many questions. I just replaced the 5 solenoids on my '81 CC 36V and have corrected a lack of power issue. But after replacing them, I have found that when switching from Forward to reverse, sometimes the cart does not move. I have to sit with the accelerator pressed and move the F/R switch until it engages and the cart moves. Could there be an issue with the F/R switch, I do not see them available on B U for my year. Can this be repaired at home? Of could it be a microswitch issue. I did not replace the micro switch when I did the solenoids.
Thanks, |

you should be able to take it off and clean it up, they do go bad and sometimes get dirty enough to effect them..............try that......................

Don't know about your car, but my 06 DS will not move when switching between reverse/forward or forward/reverse until I release the GO pedal and depress it again . . . must be designed that way . . ??

Re: '81 CC Intermittant forward/reverse issues
In doing some testing found a small microswitch which sits above the forward reverse switch. One wire connected to the key switch, the second connected to the micro switch. When the key is turned on, a ground is applied to the microswitch, when the f/R lever is in position, the switch is activated and the ground is then placed through the switch to the solenoids. If you are in "neutral" the switch is inactivated and the ground does not pass. Replacing this switch resolved the issues.
