2011 EZ-GO PDS no reverse
First time posting, will try not to sound like a complete idiot. This is my first golf car, not very educated on electric vehicles.
Here is my issue. 2011 EZ-GO pds car. A friend gave it to me so I have no idea what has been done to it. The car will not do anything in reverse except you get a click when you push the accelerator. No sound from back-up beeper Sometimes has issues going forward. I tried to put it into diagnostic mode but there is no beeping at all. Battery voltage is 37.2. It has a new ignition switch (broken key). It also has a new F/R switch. Where do I go from here? |

If the cart won't go into diagnostic mode or reverse it is very likely that the controller has failed.

Re: 2011 EZ-GO PDS no reverse
Welcome to BGW.
Do you have manuals? If not check out the STICKY:s at the top of the Electric EZGO Forum (One level up from where you are now). The bottom one has Owner, Service and Parts Manuals that should match your cart pretty well. If you've never heard the beeper beep, it might be disconnected. Measure from B- on the battery pack to J-1 Pin-10 on the controller. With key on, it should read B+ (Battery Pack Voltage) unless F/R switch is in "R" Like Scotty said, no reverse and erratic forward sounds like a controller. Be sure to flip the Run/Tow switch to Tow whenever you're work on cart. (Unless you need it live for troubleshooting) The State of Charge of your battery pack is only 75%, so they need to be charged. (Leaving in that partially discharged state for any length of time will ruin them) If you aren't familiar with the care and feeding of deep cycle, flooded lead-acid batteries, go to Scottyb's website and read everything with the word "Battery" in the title. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/ Don't worry about not knowing much about carts, that's exactly the same point we all started from. |

Beeper would run on pack voltage.
Controller pkg with 400 DCXPDS control and HD solenoid kit is $489 A great upgrade for a PDS cart = 30% increase in torque and 24mph |

One other thing I should mention based on JohnnyB's post is that it is a 36 volt cart.
Will the controller you mentioned still work? |

Re: 2011 EZ-GO PDS no reverse
The controller I suggested will work on 36 to 48v. So that may be 36v now and 48 volts later, depending upon your needs.
But really at 24mph and 30% more torque most people are happy on 36v. |
