79 ezgo wont crank over in reverse

in foward it cranks right over and runs great, i put it in reverse and it turns over but stops when compression builds like theres not enough battery power but i know there is. any ideas?

Take the direction switch out and clean the copper contacts. Many times people don't let the engine stop before they change direction and the contacts get arced and don't make a good connection. If that does not fix it clean all of the generator/starter leads and grounds. Sticky brushes in starter may also be the issue. Start with the easy stuff first.Good luck.

well i found that the one of the micro switches for foward reverse was not releasing, i messed around with it and got it working, still needs a little fine tuninng. thaks for the help
