A92-DS Club Car Jumps and Jerks
Hi All,
I have an A92-DS Club Car that has even stumped the local repair shop. We have replaced everything. The car will run okay for a little bit, then it quits. If you run the throttle pedal up and down it will start to jump and jerk forward a little. The batteries are all new. The solenoid and the thing with the brass contacts for the throttle...replaced twice. Once it sits a while and "cools off" it will run okay again. It acts like something is getting hot and not making proper connection. The local repair shop dropped it off today saying they can't fix it. Please let me know if you have any ideas, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Jerry |

Is the cart all stock? Lifted, big tires?

Sounds like the solenoid kicking in and out.

I had a 92 club car that did the same thing and it turned out to be the solenoid.

It is all stock, no big tires or anything. I'll have to try the solenoid, I've replaced it twice with the same results. Thanks for the replies.

Based on all you have replaced, have you looked in the motor? Motor brushes/ armature will do what you describe.

Re: A92-DS Club Car Jumps and Jerks
If you have a 36V system with the resistor coils behind the batteries (vs. a 48V system with controller), maybe one of the resistor coils is cracked/broken? When it heats up it expands and spreads apart breaking the circuit, but stays close enough together with bumps and vibration to cause the intermittent connection, thus the jerking? When it cools, it closes to complete the circuit and runs til it heats up again? All pure speculation, but a possibility. I would gently check the coils with a slight "tug" to ensure continuity. Something to eliminate from the list.

Thanks for all the info...just found the problem, it was the micro switch on the V-Drive.
