Default 2008.5 precedent radio turns off batty bad?

I have a 2008.5 precedent, it is 48v (4x12v) I have the radio power connected directly to one of the batteries and the lights to a battery when underway the radio shuts off. Are my batteries bad? Also it's not as quick as it was last year. I didn't keep it on the charger during the winter and the batteries did completely die. There was also a lot of blue corrosion on the positive terminals

It only happens when you start from a dead stop once you get going the radio will turn back on

First you need to clean the batteries. Check water level in each 1/4 in over plates. Use baking soda and a little water to make paste to clean batteries. I would take them out of the cart so you can wash them off with water as well.
Charge battery pack. Then get a 48 to 12 volt reducer to run your radio and assy. Or you could install a separate battery to run them. That should get you started.

I already cleaned them and water level is above plate, there is some grey stuff over some of the plates? They are charged and read 48v

If they truly read 48 volts then they are not charging to full potential. That's really only about 50 percent capacity. Try cleaning the batteries as stated above and if they don't rejuvenate any then I'd say its time to buy new ones.

I think 6x8 would be a great idea especially if you are going to buy new ones anyway. Improved efficiency and run time.

Is it a direct swap?

I don't believe all 6 will fit under the seat where the 4 used to be. They make conversion kits to fit the last two in the back of the cart, also, I believe TahoeDawg or one of the other more reputable posters on here did a very detailed post on a DIY conversion that seemed to turn out really nice. Is that what you meant by direct swap? I'll try to find that conversion post and add the link
