I put the same Harley key just its a 3 position instead of 2. it is in the stock key hole on my DS dash. on mine the stock ignition had a long thread neck , which was mounted to a cone shaped bracket (molded plastic). I cut off the cone part and sanded it flat, then mounted the new ignition. it key hole is about a 1/4 inch recessed in the stock location and the stock cover cap went back on .

yes, that what its for but I use it for my extra leds. reg headlights still on stock pull switch
