foward reverse sw wiring

repairing a flooded 2004 txt. new motor/controller and wiring. also took apart and cleaned fwd/rev sw. i thought i did a good job marking and replacing wiring. i run forward fine but no reverse. on my controller i get variable voltage M1 to B+ like i should in forward. i expect when i put it in reverse i should get the same conditions at controller but the reverse switch would reverse the power to motor. however when i put in reverse i get 36v M1 to B+. i have found wiring diagrams. on fwd/rev it has terminals labeled A<B<C<D on print. my switch is not marked. looking at the back side where the wires mount which is B and which is C. also on the print it shows contact B-C & A-D. is this forward or reverse?

thats the diagram i was using, but did not know front or rear thanks. based on reverse limit switch shown open i would think it is drawn with switch in forward
