Electrical problems
So now twice in the past week I smoked out some electrical parts, First I smoked out a brand new starter only a couple weeks old, I put that one in only because the old one needed new brushes and when I pulled it the end cap was broken.
When the starter smoked itself it also took out the solenoid because it melted the plastic until one of the lugs feel out. Everything was back together working fine for a couple hours of riding over a few days, then today my voltage regulater lit itself on fire. I would think they are related but not sure where to start looking other than just replacing what I know is bad. |

Re: Electrical problems
Do you have the battery negative ground?

Re: Electrical problems
Yep, even pulled up a wiring diagram and everything looks like it's done right. Would a bad voltage regulator be enough to smoke the starter?
