Default 1996 Club Car DS transaxle

I need to replace the bearings on the rear axles on my 1996 club car.

I've had them in the press, had them heated up red hot, and for the life of me cannot get them to budge. Am I doing something wrong?

Do you not just heat them up and slide them off the splined end?

Axle part numbers 1013785 and 1013786.

Bushing 1014207

Thanks for you help.

Nate

Probably will have to cut them with a cut-off wheel.
They get pretty stuck on there with age.

Thanks for the response...that was going to be my next try.

But I decided to go back to the shop and try again. Put the axle under quite a bit of pressure on the press. Then brought the heat over and got that bushing hot hot hot. Started adding pressure with the press and voila...it gave loose finally.

I've put the tools away for tonight, considering my achievement

I hope to get time tomorrow to reinstall the new bearings and bushings.

Thanks

Where did you find the correct size bushings?

I ordered the axle bushings off of Amazon. Item #4 on the attached PDF.

Heating these up ruined the bearings and seals too. So I replaced them also. Items 17 and 5 on the PDF.

Thanks,

Nate
