Default Need help on possible purchase 1998 Club Car DS

I am looking at a 1998 CC DS 48v series cart. Asking price is $2000.00 OBO. Cart had new batteries and brakes put in about 1 year ago, upgraded motor for 25 mph and charger and does run pretty well. That is all I know at this time. Is this cart worth taking a chance on? I know nothing about Club Car.

If the batteries are really only a year old then that's more than a fair price, at least in my opinion. Depending on what type they are, a set of batteries is darn near $1000 if not even a bit more. So long as the rest of the cart is ok; really seats and body appearance are a big factor, $2000 is decent deal.

Agreed 2000 is reasonable for sure for a running driving cart with less then 3 year old batteries.

That was my thoughts. I have not seen the batteries yet but I do kind of know the seller from the neighborhood. The cart is really clean. They are moving and want to get rid of it.

Check the date codes on the batteries and make sure they are a good brand and made for golf carts. Often, they are older than advertised.

Around here if the cart isn’t beat to hell, and the batteries are good enough to make it run and drive it’s worth $2k all day long. Even if the batteries are old. Add a back seat, motor upgrades, etc it’s icing on the cake

It all depends on your region. Everywhere is very differently priced
