Default 48 volt ez go charger help

Small black wire that comes from the charger on the first battery post has a rectangular block with the terminal. It’s rotted off so I cut it off to put a new o ring connector on it. It has a small green component between a small black wire and a red wire. What is it and do I need to replace it?

That is a temperature sensor and needs to be there or a stock charger won’t operate. Either a new charger port or a new sensor from evdrives

its off so Im not sure how to hook it up. Should the spade connector be hooked up to both the black and red wire? Guess what im asking is there an electrical contact between the thermistor and lug or just there for temp of the wire and lug?

There needs to be a resistor across those wires or the charger won’t come on if are using the factory charger.
