Re: 1982 ezgo lack of power
so i found TDC and checked the timing it 44deg in F and 38deg in R so i would say timing is ok. Before i did that i rebuilt the fuel pump and replaced all the fuel lines and fuel filter. its to late in my neighborhood to take it for a test drive and see if the fuel pump and lines made a difference. i will let you know tomorrow. my next move will be to take it to my shop and use my smoke machine on it ans see if i have a case leak.

Re: 1982 ezgo lack of power
Timing should be in the 20 range.

Re: 1982 ezgo lack of power
Some thing is amis. There are a hundred threads here, saying 18 F, 21 R, as the timing.
40 degrees should have it popping back and unhappy. |

Re: 1982 ezgo lack of power
Pull the flywheel and see if the key is still installed. That timing is so far off that it can't be the plate. It doesn't have that much adjustment.

Re: 1982 ezgo lack of power
It looks like from the manual, when the piston is at TDC, the keyway is at 12o'clock.

Re: 1982 ezgo lack of power
When you used the piston stop, did the timing marks line up at TDC?
