Re: 86 ezgo
I was given this Pages L-13 is ur area for timing. I forgot I had this and winged it and put it in the middle and assembled. I believe it was cart around that gave it to me. He reminded me that I had it when I asked in the other thread and he gave me page numbers. Feeling stupid today. Luckly there is enough room to get to it if I need to without pulling the motor again. Doing the 79 and its points I would only want to do on the bench.

Re: 86 ezgo
Disconnect the connector. Resistance between the red and blue has a pretty wide range. 120-180 ohms. or 70-150 depending on who you want to believe.
The book says 120-180. Then check red to ground, and blue to ground. There should be no continuity there. I don't like test lights. I use a digital multi-meter. |

Re: 86 ezgo
Set it to the lowest ohms setting that will still read the 180 ohms.
The lowest setting on my meter is 200 ohms, so that is perfect. Reading 1 is infinity. That is an open circuit. It's also the reading you are looking for when you test between red to ground, and blue to ground. |

Re: 86 ezgo
Hold the test leads together. The resistance should start reading very close to zero.
0.001. 0.003. something like that. It will bounce around a little. 1 is the reading you should get when they are touching nothing. https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials...e-a-multimeter |
