1987 ez-go won't start
Hello guys, newbie here, but very mechanically inclined. I have spark and it is getting gas but just rolls over, not even a spit or backfire. Any suggestions? I got 7 of these got 3 running so far.

Re: 1987 ez-go won't start
welcome to the site... I know you said you have spark but did you try a different spark plug, also try a compression test on the engine, maybe a continuity test on your ignition switch to make sure that's working. i'm assuming its a 2 stroke not really familiar with them maybe someone else will chime in and give you a couple more tips..

Thank you, yes it is a 2 stroke. Tried a new spark plug still nothing. Will do compression test this weekend.

If you have fuel and air (in the workable window), and spark (at the right time), and compression, it will run.

You should be checking your crankshaft seals too.

Re: 1987 ez-go won't start
If compression, fuel and spark are good, the muffler on a 2 stroke are common about getting gummed up and the engine can't breathe... Will cause fuel to be pushed back through the carb... Just a guess.. I'm not real good on the 2 bangers..
